What happens if my travel eSIM doesn't work? โ troubleshooting guide
Travel eSIMs are reliable โ but occasionally things go wrong. Here's how to fix them.
Work through these steps before contacting support โ most issues resolve in under two minutes.
Step 1 โ Check data roaming is on
The most common cause of connection issues.
iPhone: Settings โ Cellular โ tap your Proost eSIM โ turn on Data Roaming
Android: Settings โ Connections โ Mobile Networks โ Data Roaming โ enable
Step 2 โ Toggle Airplane Mode
On for 10 seconds, then off. Forces your phone to reconnect to available networks.
Step 3 โ Check the correct eSIM is set as data line
iPhone: Settings โ Cellular โ Cellular Data โ select Proost eSIM
Android: Settings โ Connections โ SIM Manager โ set Proost as mobile data
Step 4 โ Manually select a network
iPhone: Settings โ Cellular โ Network Selection โ turn off Automatic โ select a local network
Try a different network if the first doesn't connect.
Step 5 โ Restart your phone
A full restart clears connection states that toggling settings won't fix.
Step 6 โ Contact Proost support
Email hello@proost.com.au with your order details. All Proost purchases are covered by Australian Consumer Law โ if the eSIM doesn't work as described, you're entitled to a remedy.
